All Credit Unions are seeking ways to gain efficiencies from origination to post-closing. As we get closer to a fully digital mortgage experience, the MERS® System is the first step in moving toward that direction. The MERS® System tracks the Beneficial Interest & Servicing Rights of loans electronically. In addition, the MERS® eRegistry, for electronic notes (eNotes), is the legal system of record to track the Controller (note holder) & location (custodian) of the authoritative copy (original) of the eNote.

By utilizing the MERS® System & eRegistry, Credit Unions can gain additional operational as well as cost savings for the Credit Unions and its members. Bob Pathman will walk through the many advantages and efficiencies by utilizing the MERS® System and how to become a member of MERS®.
