Vice President | Mortgage Lending Mountain America Credit Union

Kara Loftus joined the financial industry in 1987 as a part-time teller for Mountain America Credit Union while attending college. She worked in the branch network for the next 19 years as a Head Teller, Assistant Branch Manager and then served as a Branch Manager for almost 10 years. In 2006 Kara decided to make a career shift, still with Mountain America Credit Union, and moved to the Mortgage Team as a Residential Mortgage Loan Officer. This is where Kara found her love of helping members make their dreams of homeownership come true.

In 2015 Kara was promoted to the Assistant Vice President of Sales for Mortgage Services and now serves as the Vice President of Mortgage Lending where she was promoted in 2021. In her role, Kara leads the long-term mortgage team as well as the home equity team. It is her positive outlook and innovative, collaborative personality that has helped her and her teams be successful.
When not helping make dreams come true, Kara enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Some of her hobbies include spending time outdoors, walking, reading, going to movies and the theatre, traveling, and just being with family and friends.
